Tool Care
A few careful habits can make the next creative session easier. Always follow the guidance supplied with your actual tool.
Pencils and drawing pens
Protect points and avoid unnecessary pressure when handling drawing tools. Cap pens when appropriate and store them according to their instructions. Keep tools away from heat, moisture and food preparation areas. Do not assume every barrel, ink or finish tolerates the same cleaner.
Brushes, paint and mixing tools
Use the cleaning method recommended for the paint and brush you use. Do not let unwanted residue build up, but do not soak handles or fittings without guidance. Reshape and dry brushes as instructed. Clean palettes and knives carefully; follow the paint maker's disposal guidance rather than washing unsuitable materials down a drain.
Paper and organization
Store sketchbooks flat or supported, away from spills and damp conditions. Let wet artwork dry before closing a book or storing it. Remove loose debris from organizers and put sharp or wet tools away safely.
Working safely
Use tools for their intended creative activity. Keep pointed tools and loose parts away from children unless suitable supervision and product guidance allow their use. Do not ingest art materials or use them on skin unless the actual product is designed and labeled for that purpose.
If you are unsure
Ask us about a listing before choosing a cleaner or storage method. We do not invent universal washing temperatures, material composition or safety certifications.
